So this blog is about more than just anime.
Alright, this is mainly here because I do not want to cram a whole bunch of shit on to Facebook. Anyways, I want to discuss a lot of things with anyone who will listen. Though I am sure most of the people who SHOULD be reading this and could learn something from it will not even take so much as a glance. Eh. C'est La Vie.
So, I've been hearing the term Double Standards being thrown around a lot when discussing homosexuality. I will be blunt. Yes. There are. I will not deny anything. I am not here to lie, or shove misinformation down your throats. I am here to spread wisdom.
Yes, there are double standards, and yes, I say again as I hear you all complain, it IS unfair. But you know what? The same gays whose double standards you are getting so worked up over have lived for a millennia under the crushing power of that unfairness, yet you have the NERVE to bring it up only when it is unfair to you?
I hate to make generalizations here, not everyone who talks of double standards are close-minded people. Many of you are very intelligent people and very kind people. But a lot of people are NOT like that. If they were, I would not really mind if you felt there was a double standard, and would probably ask to engage in some fun and friendly debate with you.
Anyways, how about I ask a question? Have you EVER spoke out against gay bullying? Have you ever brought attention to the struggles faced by the LGBTQ commuminity on a daily basis, or tried to stand up for a gay person in need?
If you answered yes, great. Stop reading (actually, keep reading, just for fun). I am proud of you and hope to have a friendly conversation with you sometime soon.
If no, then why did you feel so upset that you had to leap into action and fight back against double standards? Clearly, in this case (again, I'm generalizing my audience, please bare with me), you are not actually fighting for what's right (at least not in any true sense of the word, maybe in your own distorted sense of right), but you are actually fighting AGAINST homosexuality in a way that makes you seem like a good guy fighting for a good cause.
Trust me, we have all played the victim card at some point in our lives, but you know, some of us have actually LIVED the victim card. So before you get all defensive about double standards and the like, why don't you try thinking about how those same statements you saw that caused you to complain about a double standard, why don't you think about the UNCOUNTABLE amount of times that exact statement has been used to hurt an LGBTQ person. And when you are done thinking about it, maybe you will appreciate, and understand how many people feel every day of their lives.

The Fall Season Review
So um... Some of my favorite anime from the 2011 Fall Season.
First off, the 2011 remake of Hunter x Hunter started in this season. I'm in love. The perfect combination of action, hilarity, and adorable butt-kicking kids. Definitely watch. Do it! DO IT! Before it gets too far in to catch up with.
Next we have Kimi to Boku (You and Me) which is a cute little anime, not the best I have seen this season but it is really sweet and I love it. The way the eyes are drawn kind of threw me off in the beginning, but I got used to it.
There is also Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere). Usually, an anime with a slow-starting plot, a backstory that makes NO sense, and whose only real attractors are big boobs and explosions is something I definitely do NOT like, but Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere just did it SO WELL. I could not help but watch it. I rated it a 10/10 on my MAL account. I definitely suggest that you all watch this before you watch anything else from the Fall season.
The second season of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi aired during the Fall season. I suppose I am biased to like this because I LOVE yaoi. That does not change the fact that Sekaiichi Hatsukoi is amazingly adorable and what not. It is a spin off series from the more popular show Junjou Romantica, and is quite the little love story. It has a lot less sex than Junjou Romantica as well. With three different couples, the anime can get a little confusing at times, but I'm sure you will pull through. Especially when everyone person in every one of the couples works with manga in some way, be it editing, writing, or part of a writing team (one is even the cashier at a manga store). Another 10/10 from me, and another must watch.
Season 2 of Squid Girl also come out during the fall. It is a silly, episodic series, but probably one of my least favorites of the fall season. That is not to say that Squid Girl is bad, because it was not bad. I love every anime I watch, so it is only natural that I love some less than others. It is is cute, and funny, but something I'd suggest for the serious anime watchers.
Finally, we have UN-GO. It was pretty damn sweet, and I would definitely suggest watching this as soon as you finish with Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. It is a really cool paranormal/detective anime (not to be confused with a paranormal detective anime, paranormal stuff goes on i the anime, but none of the cases the detective works with are inherently paranormal). Point is, it is awesome, and if you ever see Inga's hat, you will want it as much as I do. I mean really, a panda hat with ARM-LENGTH PAW MITTENS ATTACHED! GIMME GIMME!
So that is my thoughts on the fall season. All in all, I really enjoyed it. Oh, and if any of you have a My Anime List account, or a Crunchyroll account, tell me.
